Job summary

CJ Cafe in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a kitchen steward to join our 10-person team. We are located at 875 Flatbush Ave. The ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.

Responsibilities include cleaning stoves, ovens, grills and refrigerators; washing pots, pans, dishes and grease traps; assisting with cooking tasks; preparing foods for the chef; cleaning walls, ceilings and service areas; and receiving groceries.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential.
• Full-time flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
• Previous cooking experience highly preferred.
• Prior experience working with cleaning equipment and large kitchen equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning the stoves, ovens, grills, and refrigerators
• Washing pots, pans, dishes, utensils and grease traps.
• Assist with cooking tasks
• Prepare food for the chef including cutting and preparing meat, vegetables and pasta
• Cleans walls and ceiling tiles, mops and sweeps kitchen and service areas and removes trash daily
• Receive and organize groceries/inventory
