We seek a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Staff Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in a licensed child care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy kitchen environment while adhering to all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare all meals and snacks following issued menus and directives.
  • Keep accurate records including inventory and production records.
  • Comply with all Center regulations and guidelines.
  • Comply with all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Wash kitchenware and tableware.
  • Keep kitchen, appliances, etc. clean, sanitized, and in good working condition.
  • Complete accurate food order requests and grocery shopping as needed.
  • Inventory food supply, reporting food supply needs to the Associate Director.
  • Report to the Associate Director any maintenance or non-food supply needs in the kitchen.
  • Assist with ordering supplies if requested.
  • Properly store food and non-food supplies upon delivery.
  • Keep all food items stored properly and at the appropriate temperature.
  • Date all food items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
  • Preferred: five years professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to reach over head.
  • Good personal hygiene (clean clothes, hair, hands, nails, etc.).
  • Ability to bend down.
  • Ability to read and understand all documents.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
