Position Summary:
Able to perform the essential functions of kitchen staff positions on an as-needed basis.

Functions of the Job:
Essential Functions - Production
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers for service.
- Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Prepare ahead for upcoming menus.
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
- Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas.
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
- Organize inventory stock and practice FIFO procedures. Keep cooler/storage areas clean.
- Maintain the dishwashing area, monitor chemical usage, and ensure equipment is in good condition. Store clean dishes properly.
- Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
- Prepare baked goods as required and present them appealingly.
- Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation.
- Set up and restock serving/bar lines, ensuring proper food temperatures and cleanliness.
- Serve food with appropriate sizes and utensils, maintaining quality and hospitality standards.
Compliance
- Prepare foods in compliance with the menu and recipes.
- Follow standardized recipes for consistency.
- Recognize reimbursable meals and adhere to Meal Pattern regulations.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Follow HACCP procedures and record food temperatures.
- Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
- Attend meetings and training, and promote Opaa!’s core values.
- Maintain compliance with timekeeping policies.
Administrative Duties
- Handle customer monies and operate POS systems, ensuring only reimbursable meals are processed.
- Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation daily.
- Log hours accurately and notify supervisors of shift issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and perform physical activities. Occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include focus, depth perception, and color vision.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month of related experience or training.
Skills
Ability to read and write simple instructions, perform basic math, and apply reasoning to carry out tasks.
Equipment used includes dishwashers, ovens, slicers, thermometers, and computers.
