Position Summary
Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, participate in occasional catering functions, and perform all kitchen positions.

Functions of the Job
Essential Functions Production
- Assist in setting up serving lines daily, ensure all food is held at required temperatures, and stock milk coolers.
- Prepare foods according to the menu plan and recipes, and plan ahead for the next day.
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
- Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas.
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
- Manage inventory, practice FIFO, and keep coolers/storage racks clean.
- Maintain dishwashing area, monitor chemical usage, and store dishes properly.
- Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
- Prepare baked goods, present them appealingly, and batch cook for quality.
- Set up and restock serving/bar lines, serve food with proper sizes and utensils, and ensure presentation and hospitality.
Compliance- Follow menu plans and recipes for food preparation.
- Convert and follow standardized recipes for consistency.
- Recognize reimbursable meals and adhere to Meal Pattern regulations.
- Keep accurate production records and food safety logs.
- Follow safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
- Attend meetings, complete training, and promote Opaa!’s core values.
- Comply with timekeeping policies.
Administrative- Handle customer monies, operate POS systems, and manage paperwork.
- Submit work hours accurately and notify supervisors of shift issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands- Frequently stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, and reach; exert over 60 pounds occasionally; lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Require specific vision abilities including focus, depth perception, and color vision.
Working Conditions- Work inside and outside, around moving parts, and in humid, hot, or cold environments.
- Exposure to chemicals and loud noise levels.
Position QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month of related experience or training.
Language SkillsAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in small groups.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems.
Machines and EquipmentIncludes dishwashers, mixers, ovens, slicers, thermometers, POS systems, and more.
