Job description

Job Title: Kitchen Staff I

Reports to: Head Chef

Level: Hourly

Scope: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of dishware, cookware, utensils, equipment, and the dining room/kitchen areas.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a safety culture by following all SOPs, JSAs, policies, and procedures as set out by Target Hospitality.
  2. Clean and maintain the cleanliness of the dining room and service areas.
  3. Sweep and mop floors in both the kitchen and dining room.
  4. Clean and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and equipment thoroughly.
  5. Assist in restocking coolers and displays in the dining room.
  6. Follow sanitation guidelines of Target Hospitality's safe operation procedures.
  7. Ensure all chemicals and cleaning agents are at proper levels in the mechanical dishwasher.
  8. Operate and sanitize the mechanical dishwasher properly.
  9. Follow HACCP guidelines for manual dishwashing procedures.
  10. Ensure clean dishes, flatware, cookware, and equipment are stored properly.
  11. Provide world-class customer service to exceed guest needs.
  12. Attend all safety meetings and participate in emergency response procedures.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Physical Demands:
  • Stand and squat for long periods (up to 12 hours or more) with scheduled breaks.
  • Walk short and long distances as required.
  • Use stairs and step stools.
  • Push/pull carts weighing approximately 50 lbs.
  • Work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment.
  • Operate kitchen machinery.
  • Lift an average of 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs on occasion, with assistance if exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Reach below waist, at waist, and above shoulder levels with frequent twisting.
  • Perform repetitive wrist movements, grasping weights of 10-25 lbs.
  • Occasionally perform manual dexterity tasks such as typing and using a 10-key.
Working Conditions Environment:
  • Hear and understand verbal instructions and alarms/signals.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
  • Inspect environments visually, read small text labels.
  • Work in extreme hot and cold environments.
  • Work within a rotational schedule (e.g., 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off).
  • Navigate small, close, and congested spaces safely.
  • Periodical exposure to elevated noise levels.
  • Travel and work long rotations away from home as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 months dishwashing experience, preferably in remote camps or hospitality industries.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Food safety certification (preferred).
  • First aid certification (preferred).
  • Effective and efficient work capability with or without supervision.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work long rotations away from home.
  • Ability to pass background checks and urine analysis.
  • Own transportation to the facility.
