Job Description
We are looking for dedicatedand energetic cooks with exceptionally great attitudes, adept at multitaskingin a high-volume fast-paced work environment, and who can maintain cordial andprofessional working relationships with other staff supervisors and guest. Agreat cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. Youwill be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safetyrules in the kitchen.
Required Duties And Responsibilities
- Arrives at work on time,well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift
- Demonstrated a positiveattitude at all times, willing to help out where needed
- Follows all Walk-Ons safety,sanitation, and employee guidelines
- Follows day prep sheet andcompletes all duties assigned
- Sets up Sani-buckets, maintainsa clean work are during the shift
- Follows proper food rotation,understands how to date and label all items (both prepared and unprepared)
- Strictly adheres to Walk-Onsrecipes and procedure when preparing any food items
- Practices "clean as you go"techniques to avoid cross contamination
- Assists and completes the dailyline checklist for shift readiness
- Can complete requirements ofjob without constant supervision
- Able to us scale for properportioning
- Calibrates bio-thermometers andscales for accurate results
- Follows all HACCP guidelinesfor heating and cooling of food products
- Assists in checking in,unloading, dating, rotating, and storage of all delivered products
- Assist other employees tocomplete any tasks during shift
- Dumps trash and cardboard fromkitchen into proper receptacles in the back of the restaurant
Candidate Minimal Requirements
- Must be able to read recipesand tickets in English and successfully complete testing for stationcertification and food safety in English.
- Reliable transportation to/fromwork
- Previous kitchen experiencepreferred.
- 18 years of age or older
Physical Requirements For This Position
- Continuous standing, bending,lifting/carrying items (up to 60 pounds), and exposure to heat (up to 1000? For more)
- Ability to read recipes, prep sheets,charts in English
- Understand measuringingredients by weight and by volume
- Able to use ounce and poundscales for measuring
- Able to operate a slicer forcutting meats, cheeses, and vegetables (must be 18 years of age to operate theslicer).
- Able to hear and respond tocalls made in the kitchen in English.
- Must be able to completelyoperate fryers, char-grill, flat top grill, and slicer and any other BOHequipment and accurately and timely prepare all food items as orders areregistered.
Dress Code
Shoes: Black,non-skid soled shoes, closed toes, rubber soles and no colored markings on theshoes with black socks.
Pants: Long blackpants with a belt
Hair: Grooming is a vital part of overall appearance. Hair andfingernails must be clean, neat, and conservative. Hair needs to be restrainedand placed under a red skull cap. Beard nets must be worn if facial hair.
Shirts: Walk-On'sapproved BOH shirt
