Job summary

Tao Group Hospitality is opening Bar CC in West Chelsea, NYC, with the kitchen and beverage leadership from top industry names. The Bar Director role is led by renowned master mixologist Harrison Ginsberg, joining a team known for award-winning cocktails and world-class hospitality.

The position focuses on delivering exceptional service, describing menu items to guests, coordinating with servers and chefs, and maintaining the bar and dining areas to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year restaurant experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and move quickly.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and describes all food items to the guests, in a timely manner.
• Interacts with the dining room guests, fellow team members, servers, cocktail servers and bartenders.
• Maintains general cleanliness of stations and the venue.
• Follow supervisor's instructions and be a team player.

Bar CC is the forthcoming bar from the team behind Crane Club, Michelin-starred chef Melissa Rodriguez and restaurateur Jeffrey Katz, in partnership with Tao Group Hospitality. Joining the team as Bar Director is acclaimed master mixologist and bartender Harrison Ginsberg, who has helped lead award-winning cocktail programs recognized among The World's 50 Best Bars and North America's 50 Best Bars.

Delivers all food menu items and accurately describes them to the guests. Acts as a liaison between the servers, cocktail servers & bartenders, and chefs. Interacts with the dining room guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Anticipate and accommodate all needs of the guests
• Provides professional and exceptional service
• Delivers and describes all food items to the guests, in a timely manner

Participates in table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware

Maintain general cleanliness of stations and the entire venue

Follow supervisor's instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player

Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food menus

Responsible for the barista station- set up and creating coffee and tea orders

Responsible for expediting food orders

Required to solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest and communicate to management

Possess knowledge of culinary ticket system

Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards

Communicates the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support team members, managers, and chefs

Properly sets-up Kitcxhen Server's station, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:

Stocks station with prescribed items and supplies

Completes opening duties as assigned or directed

Completes closing duties as assigned or directed

Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management

Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings

Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings

Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example

Portrays a positive and professional attitude

Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments

Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members

Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Tao Group Hospitality in-venue food Kitchen Server training

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:

1 year restaurant experience preferred

Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
