Job summary

NYU Langone Health, based in New York, is seeking a Utility Attendant/Potwasher to support sanitation operations in food preparation, production, storage, service, and ware washing areas. The role ensures smooth and safe operations in a dynamic, team-centered environment with changing demands.

The position requires clear English communication, the ability to follow simple instructions, and prior experience in a food environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must communicate, read, and write English clearly.
• Must understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Completes other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintains a neat and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
• Washes, rinses, sanitizes and stores pots, pans, utensils, trays, domes, plates, and other equipment.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen surfaces and non‑food contact surfaces per procedures and regulations.
• Sweeps, mops, and scrubs floors in all kitchen areas.
• Empties and disposes of kitchen trash and maintains bins.
• Operates sanitation equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintains hand wash stations and prepares workstation for next shift.
