Job summary

One World Market of Novi is seeking a Kitchen Worker to support our culinary team in a fast-paced Japanese restaurant. You will assist with basic food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and help ensure food safety standards are met.

You’ll stock supplies, wash dishes, and assist cooks with prep, plating, and running food. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required; prior kitchen experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Willingness to learn from chefs and supervisors.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Stock and replenish kitchen supplies, including ingredients, utensils, and dishware.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a hygienic work environment.
• Support cooks by handling prep work, plating assistance, and running food to designated areas.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of ingredients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen supervisors or chefs.
