Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service, LLC in Kingston, RI seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support the culinary team in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. You will prep and plate dishes, keep the kitchen clean, stock supplies, and help with deliveries while maintaining a positive attitude with coworkers and customers.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a prep/line cook role, food safety certification, and the ability to pass a background check; high school kitchen basics is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a full-service restaurant as a prep/line cook.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Food safety handler and sanitation certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare food as directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts.
