Overview

A Kitchen Prep Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting chefs and line cooks.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to contribute to a team-oriented kitchen environment. If you're interested in pursuing a career as a prep cook, consider gaining experience in various kitchen positions to build your skills and knowledge.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00-$18.00.

This position will remain open until August 29, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Ingredient Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients as per recipes.

  • Basic Cooking Tasks: Perform tasks like reducing sauces, parboiling, and assembling simple dishes such as salads or appetizers.

  • Organization & Inventory: Label and stock ingredients using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

  • Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and disposing of trash.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.

Qualifications
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training a plus.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
