About the Role:
Join The Goddard School of Overland Park as a Kitchen Manager/Cook, where you will play a vital role in creating nutritious and delicious meals for our young learners. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about food and child nutrition, and who can foster a positive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook healthy meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Plan weekly menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of food production and waste.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate food-related activities into the curriculum.
- Monitor food service operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook or kitchen manager, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Food Handler's Certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive demeanor.
- Passion for working with children and creating a nurturing kitchen atmosphere.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
