Job summary

Ascension Coffee is opening a new cafe in Fall 2026 and seeks a capable Café Kitchen Manager to support the General Manager in all aspects of café operations, from hiring and training to inventory control and P&L. You will lead BOH teams, maintain quality and budget adherence, and partner with Brand Leadership on standards.

The role demands exemplary leadership, weekend/evening availability, reliable transportation to multiple locations, and a strong focus on hospitality and food safety.

Qualifications

• Restaurant kitchen operations experience required.
• Food and Beverage Manager certification preferred or required.
• Reliable transportation, able to travel to all locations.
• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Strong teambuilding skills, clear communication.
• Great organizational skills and problem solving ability.
• High initiative and self-management; willing to take direction.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (~8 hours) daily.

Responsibilities

• Track kitchen-related financials: food cost, labor cost, inventory.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Oversee BOH operations and train/coach BOH team members.
• Drive financial success through strong leadership.
• Meet deadlines for ordering, inventory, invoices and schedules.
• Ensure quality standards for all food and build sheets.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and proper equipment functioning.
• Order food accurately to prevent waste and ensure availability.
• Implement Ascension Coffee standards as directed by Brand Leadership.
• Participate in special events and off-site catering.

About the role

OurCaféKitchenManageris responsible forsupporting the Café General Manager inall aspects of operations within their café including,but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, team leadership, inventory management, profit and loss, hospitality, and food safety.Thisindividual mustmaintainthe highest commitment to quality with a demonstrated collaborative approach.The CaféKitchenManageris responsible fordrivingexceptional standards in food preparation and presentationasestablishedby the Director of Culinary.This role requiresat least45 hoursper work weekincafé. Salary commensurate with experience.
