Position Description

As a Kitchen Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining the direction of kitchen staff members to ensure daily goals and tasks are being met. In addition, you will perform all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and create a quality work environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work cooperatively with the Kitchen Manager to ensure all budget expenses are within limits; identify and communicate ways to improve and streamline operations.
  2. Keep General Manager/Kitchen Manager informed of problems and propose alternative solutions.
  3. Maintain a clean and safe facility.
  4. Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce foodborne illness risks.
  5. Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  6. Ensure clear communication with vendors providing restaurant equipment and supplies.
  7. Complete walk-throughs and temperature checks in the kitchen.
  8. Assist in ordering food, produce, liquor, and restaurant supplies.
  9. Assist in receiving deliveries, check paperwork, and direct staff for stocking.
  10. Perform all functions for kitchen operations and assist as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service taught through in-house training.
  2. Must be able to communicate clearly.
Physical Requirements / Environment / Work Conditions:
  1. High level of mobility and flexibility.
  2. Ability to work irregular hours under heavy stress during peak times.
  3. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. High level of coordination.
  5. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  6. Ability to fit through an opening 30” wide.
  7. Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  8. Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
  9. Continual standing and walking.
