Job description

SUMMARY: Responsible to the Collaboration Coordinator for purchasing all food and supplies; completing recordkeeping requirements for the kitchen/meal service; preparing, cooking, and serving meals and snacks that expose children to culturally diverse foods. All duties must comply with OSHA, USDA/CACFP, childcare licensing, and company guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:

KITCHEN OPERATIONS:

  • Prepare at least four rotating menus that are appetizing, culturally diverse, and nutritionally suitable, in accordance with USDA, CACFP, and licensing standards.
  • Maintain inventory, estimate usage, and purchase food and supplies accordingly.
  • Handle meal preparation, cooking, delivery, and service to classrooms following guidelines.
  • Store dishes and food in compliance with standards.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform dishwashing duties to meet standards.
  • Keep records for CACFP compliance, including CN labels, production records, monthly reports, and meal counts.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment by keeping service records and reporting issues promptly.
