Your Role: Lead Our Night Shift Crew & Ensure Service Excellence
Shift: Overnight (Start between 8:00–10:00 PM / End between 4:00–6:00 AM) Hours: Average 30–55 hours per week Kitchen Guard of Bergen County is hiring full-time, overnight Kitchen Hood and Exhaust Cleaning Technicians. This is a skilled trade position that plays a critical role in protecting commercial kitchens by cleaning and maintaining kitchen exhaust systems according to NFPA 96 fire safety standards. The role is physically demanding and requires individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow. Experience in kitchen exhaust cleaning or related trades is preferred but not required.
As our Lead Technician, you'll run point on all overnight kitchen exhaust cleaning jobs. You'll supervise a small crew, solve problems in real time, and work hands-on to ensure every job meets our high standards.
Responsibilities Include: Supervise 2-person night crew Ensure each job is completed safely, on time, and to spec Train and coach new team members Maintain compliance with safety protocols Oversee job site prep, equipment use, and proper cleanup Document and report job completion and crew performance Assist with hands-on cleaning (pressure washing, scraping, ductwork)
What You Bring
2+ years in a crew leadership or field technician role (preferred) Strong work ethic and accountability mindset Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift 50+ lbs Confidence to make on-site decisions under pressure Comfortable working in rooftops, kitchens, and enclosed spaces Basic tech comfort – mobile-based reporting, checklist updates, etc.
Bonus if you have: • Prior hood cleaning, power washing, or industrial cleaning experience • OSHA 10/30 or safety training • Military, HVAC, or pest control field experience
