Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is looking for a dependable Kitchen Helper to contribute to our school food service program. Located on-site at DC West Community Schools, you will play a vital role in ensuring meal service runs smoothly while serving students and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

This position offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no late nights or weekends, allowing for work-life balance. Enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, and a free meal each shift.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to measure ingredients and convert quantities for large batches.
  • Able to perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Help prep and serve menu items and maintain kitchen hygiene.
  • Follow serving-size and special-diet guidelines.
  • Assist with food safety protocols and documentation.
  • Communicate supply needs to the team.
  • Support teammates and assist with training new members.

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Kitchen Helper to join our school food service program. In this role you’ll keep meal service running smoothly by helping prep simple menu items, serving students, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. It’s an active, team‑focused role that makes a real impact on students’ day.

What You’ll Do
  • Help prep and serve menu items, keep your station stocked, and follow serving‑size and special‑diet guidelines.
  • Follow simple recipes like fruit and veggie bars or baked goods while keeping kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized using FIFO.
  • Maintain food safety and compliance Follow food‑safety steps, complete basic logs, assist with production records and help maintain a safe workspace.
  • Communicate supply needs, feedback, and updates to your team and supervisors.
  • Stock and serve items during meal service and help with prep lists and freezer pulls.
  • Jump in where needed from helping teammates, training new team members and assisting when someone is out.
