Job summary

LongSpar Ranch is seeking a Kitchen Helper to assist the Head Chef with food prep and kitchen cleanliness to ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience.

The role involves supporting food preparation, maintaining hygiene, and helping with deliveries and storage while adhering to safety standards. This position requires basic kitchen experience and the ability to obtain a Food handler's license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and measuring ingredients
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen; wash/dry dishes; sanitize surfaces; dispose of waste
  • Replace garbage bags and wash cans
  • Mop and sweep kitchen areas
  • Assist in unloading food supplies from delivery trucks
  • Store ingredients per food safety standards
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety standards

The Kitchen Helper assists the Head Chef in preparing food and maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen at LongSpar Ranch. This position is pivotal in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in food preparation, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by properly washing and drying all dishes, sanitizing surfaces and disposing of kitchen waste. Neatly putting away all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards.
  • Remove garbage, replace garbage bags, and wash garbage cans.
  • Mop and sweep the kitchen areas.
  • Assist kitchen staff to unload food supplies from delivery trucks.
  • Store ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of six months related kitchen experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain Food handler's license within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances.
