Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is actively seeking a Fire Suppression Hood Technician to perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance on high-traffic fire suppression systems including commercial kitchen hoods. You’ll inspect components, read blueprints, and communicate findings clearly to customers and supervisors on site.

This role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and the ability to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Ability to work independently and complete inspection jobs without direct supervision.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire suppression systems including commercial kitchen hood systems and fire extinguishers.
• Inspect valves, gauges, piping, sprinkler heads, connections, and related suppression system components.
• Perform functional testing to verify proper system operation and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
