Silco Fire & Security is seeking a reliable Kitchen Suppression – Fire Extinguisher Utility Technician Apprentice/Trainee in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves assisting the installation team, supporting inspections, and performing smaller tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required; familiarity with installation, maintenance, or repair is a plus.
• Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, and specifications preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail; willingness to learn and earn licenses.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead installer with kitchen suppression system installations, ensuring compliance with codes and NFPA standards.
• Support inspections and catch up on past-due work orders.
• Assist in maintenance and repairs of kitchen suppression systems and related equipment.
• Cover inspections when technicians are unavailable to ensure continuous service.
• Support shop tasks and inventory as needed.
• Help maintain accurate inspection, test, maintenance and repair records.
• Pass required Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguisher state certification exams (training provided).
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
