Job summary

Pye‑Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician to independently perform complete KEC service lifecycle on commercial kitchen exhaust systems, ensuring NFPA 96 compliance and safe customer environments.

You will document results, operate cleaning equipment, travel to job sites as required, and maintain vehicles and supplies; a high school diploma and clean driving record are required, with 3+ years of cleaning experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial cleaning as a KEC apprentice or KEC technician is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on jobs.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license, if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete KEC services including setup and teardown of containment including hanging plastic sheeting, setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, hoses, pre-sprayers, mixing chemicals, and high‑pressure washing equipment.
• Pre‑scrape grease buildup and power wash hoods, ducts, filters, and exhaust fans to NFPA 96 standards.
• Perform final cleanup and restore kitchen environments to operational condition.
• Protect customer facilities, appliances, and surrounding areas during all service activities.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, or non‑compliant conditions and document findings.
• Install and service first aid kits by mounting units, restocking supplies, and ensuring OSHA compliance through routine inspections and documentation, as required.
• Complete accurate service reports and communicate results in a timely manner.
• Inspect and maintain service vehicles and equipment; initiate repair requests as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
