Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimator to join our team, specializing in kitchen projects for multifamily new construction. This role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and working closely with the sales team and vendors to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, particularly with cabinetry, hardware, and kitchen design components, and a strong ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimate Preparation:
    1. Review architectural plans and project specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for kitchen cabinetry, hardware, and accessories.
    2. Perform take-offs and calculate material quantities, labor costs, and installation timelines.
    3. Account for customizations, finishes, and unique project requirements in estimates.
  2. Collaboration & Communication:
    1. Work with the sales team to clarify project requirements and address design or budget concerns.
    2. Liaise with vendors and suppliers to source materials and obtain competitive pricing.
    3. Provide input to the sales team to create proposals that align with client budgets and expectations.
  3. Cost Management:
    1. Identify opportunities for value engineering to reduce costs without compromising quality.
    2. Monitor project budgets and ensure adherence to estimated costs during execution.
  4. Project Coordination:
    1. Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure smooth handoff of estimates and detailed scope of work.
    2. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required to gather information for estimates.
  5. Documentation & Reporting:
    1. Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project outcomes for future reference.
    2. Prepare reports summarizing bid results and cost analysis.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  2. 3+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with a focus on cabinetry, millwork, or kitchen projects preferred.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  4. Experience with estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ProEst) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  5. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  6. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet tight deadlines.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Knowledge of multifamily new construction processes and timelines.
  2. Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to cabinetry and kitchen installations.
  3. Experience with value engineering and cost optimization strategies.

Work Environment:
This position is 100% remote, with occasional virtual meetings and collaboration.
