The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator responsible for menu planning, meal preparation, and supervising kitchen volunteers. You will ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards and maintain required records.

Starting at: $12.50 per hour
As the Kitchen Coordinator you will be responsible for menu planning, meal preparation, supervision of kitchen volunteers, kitchen operations, equipment maintenance, and ensuring health and sanitation standards. You will maintain required records and reports such as inventory and meal statistics to effectively carry out the mission of The Salvation Army.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Background Checks: This position requires a background check; all results will be reviewed.
Experience: Training in food preparation and/or food service management with demonstrable computer, record keeping, and communication skills is highly preferred.
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard. Must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment. ServSafe Food Manager Certification required within 6 months.
Oversee kitchen volunteers and community service workers.
Some travel may be required to pick up supplies.
Work is performed in a typical institutional food services environment.
