J.A.V. Food Corp d/b/a Agata & Valentina in New York, NY is seeking a motivated cook to join its fast-paced food market team. You will prepare menu items, maintain a clean workstation, and ensure food safety standards while delivering exceptional service.

This full-time, in-person role requires 2–3 years of kitchen experience, flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and strong teamwork. Compensation starts from $17 per hour, based on experience.

Position Summary

Agata & Valentina, one of New York City’s premier Italian specialty food store is seeking a motivated cook to bring skill, organization and efficiency to deliver exceptional food to our customers at our food market. If you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a fast paced, team-oriented kitchen, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion guidelines and presentation standards
• Set up and maintain a clean, organized workstation, ensuring proper ingredient preparation and storage
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper labeling, dating, and, rotation of ingredients
• Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate production and ensure timely service
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and managing inventory to maintain freshness and minimize waste
• Adapt to changing kitchen needs, assisting with prep work, station changes, and other tasks as required
• Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, customer focused environment

Knowledge Skills and Competencies

• 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-volume setting
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards
