Ideal candidates can stand long hours, follow recipes precisely, and commit to mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Position Summary

Agata & Valentina, one of New York City's premier Italian specialty food stores, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Food Prep Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily food preparation, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure that all food products meet our quality and freshness standards. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced kitchen environment and enjoys being part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and preparation guidelines.

• Assist with preparing salads, sandwiches, sauces, and other fresh food items.

• Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistent food quality.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area.

• Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products.

• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.

• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing ingredients and supplies.

• Operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely.

• Work closely with kitchen staff to complete daily preparation tasks.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
