Job summary

Telos Residential in Utah is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support nutritious, safe, and consistent meals for residents and staff. The role operates Monday–Friday from 1–6 pm and is a part-time position, reporting to the Kitchen Director.

The Kitchen Assistant will follow dietician and nursing director guidance, prepare meals for up to 100 people, and maintain a clean work environment while adhering to Telos schedules. This role requires a food-handler's permit and background check.

Qualifications

• Organized, dependable, proactive and coachable.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition is required.
• Must complete Direct Care Training.
• Current food-handler's permit is required.
• Ability to create and prepare weekly meals.
• Ability to hold appropriate boundaries and be reliable.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safe-food handling and storage procedures.
• Provides special dietary needs as ordered by the MD, dietician, and nursing director.
• Offers students a variety and adequate amount of food to meet their dietary needs.
• Serves meals in a timely manner adhering to the Telos schedule.
• Helps to prepare extra-large meals for Family Days five times per year.
• Ability to maintain a clean work environment.
• Completes other assignments as given by supervisor.

Mission: Provide nutritious, safe, and consistent meals that support resident health, satisfaction, regulation, and daily structure.

The Telos cook provides well-balanced, healthy meals as directed by the dietician and the nursing

director.

The weekday cook is responsible for providing satisfying, healthy meals for up to 100 students

and staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adheres to safe-food handling and storage procedures
• Provides special dietary needs as ordered by the MD, dietician, and nursing director
• Offers students a variety and adequate amount of food to meet their dietary needs
• Serves meals in a timely manner adhering to the Telos schedule
• Helps to prepare extra-large meals for Family Days five times per year
• Ability to maintain a clean work environment
• Completes other assignments as given by supervisor
