Job summary

Cardenas Markets in California seeks a Kitchen Clerk to deliver friendly, high-quality customer service in a retail kitchen environment. You will model our values while supporting cooks and ensuring clean, organized display cases and stocked ingredients.

This role requires a valid Food Handlers Card and retail experience; you will greet customers, take orders, restock utensils, operate kitchen equipment, and perform other duties as assigned to keep the department safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card required.
• Customer Service and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to address questions in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Organize products in display cases and tables; ensure cases are fully stocked.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, sanitation, and food safety.
• Assist the cooks with making specific dishes.
• Fill and restock front counter utensils, water sanitizer, vegetables, and drinks.
• Work with kitchen equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders; take orders in person and by phone.
• All other duties as assigned.
