Job summary

Michigan Dining at the University of Michigan is hiring a Kitchen Cleaner. This role involves maintaining a clean kitchen, cleaning equipment, filtering fryers, and washing dishes while adhering to HACCP standards.

The position supports year-round scheduling with a seniority-based bidding process and may require work across departments. Ranked per the CBA, shifts are five consecutive 8-hour days with two days off, and pay ranges from $20.42 to $21.62 per hour with benefits and tuition support

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English and ability to interpret instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends & holidays.
• Ability to assemble, disassemble, and operate kitchen equipment.
• Ability to understand and implement OSEH and HACCP standards and use resources responsibly.
• Maintain a static position for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean kitchen by removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Clean equipment, filter fryers, hood vents and drains, wash dishes and cookware.
• Assist and work with other kitchen cleaners to ensure a clean work environment following health codes.
