NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola, NY, is seeking a Kitchen Cleaner to join our food service team. The role focuses on heavy-duty cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities, following sanitation and infection control procedures, and supporting catering deliveries as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cleans heavy duty kitchen equipment and facilities (i.e. broilers, ovens, fryers, floors, ice machine, etc.). Practices safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Follows and completes cleaning assignments in accordance with monthly cleaning list and daily assignment sheets.
  • Transports garbage from kitchen/cafeteria to outside dumpsters.
  • Complies with departmental and hospital wide policies pertaining to proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
  • Uses correct cleaning chemicals for designated cleaning tasks. Ensures all chemicals are stored in the chemical closet at end of shift.
  • Delivers food and beverages for catering functions as assigned.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Kitchen Cleaner.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible forHeavy duty cleaning of kitchen equipment and facilities. Follows proper sanitation and infection control procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a High School or GED. Strong communication (both oral and written), and customer service skills. Ability to read well and write legibly. Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Certifications / Registration: Indicate special certifications that are required or preferred for the position 1- 2 years In food service.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $47,979.15 - $47,979.15 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
