Job summary

Meals on Wheels People in Portland, OR is seeking a full-time Bakery Assistant to support production of bakery items for senior dining menus, following standardized recipes and production charts.

You will ensure food safety, assist with loading and delivery to centers, and help maintain clean, sanitary equipment; the role requires ability to lift 50 pounds and stand long hours. This position offers a four-day workweek and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Current Oregon Food Handler’s Certificate or ability to obtain within two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assist as needed with bakery item production for all senior dining menus.
• Follow standardized recipes and daily production charts.
• Ensure accuracy of food count for shipment to contract locations.
• Maintain high cleaning and sanitation standards per food safety procedures.
• Deliver food, supplies, and equipment to dining centers and account locations.
• Cross-train into other Central Kitchen departments.
