Thomas Cuisine is hiring Part Time Kitchen Assistant/Prep Cook for The Eating Recovery Center in Northbrook at 4201 Lake Cook Rd.

The Kitchen Assistants/Prep Cook will be responsible for the direction and guidance in collaboration with the Chef Manager and Food Services Director for the overall production of food to include implementation of systematic production methods, standardized recipes, portion control, menu development, and purchasing requirements. Carrying out assigned responsibilities, must comply with all client policies and regulatory agencies in an eating recovery center.

Starting at $17+/hr.-based on experience.

Weekend and Holiday shifts will be included in the schedule

Hours can be 7A-3P or 3P-7P, days of the week will vary

You will be responsible for obtaining your own Food Handlers certification

Who you are and what you will do:

• Previous cooking / culinary experience; preferred, however we will train the right attitude!
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.
• Follow café guidelines concerning guest services, food, and physical safety, equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times.
• Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the Cafe's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Scratch based food preparation, preferred
• Joining a tenured and experienced culinary team
• Chef-driven concepts and progressive training
• MUST be 18+ years of age
• TB, 9 panel drug test and background required
