Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service in Columbus, OH is seeking Kitchen Assistants to support the culinary team under the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You will prepare food as directed, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, and help with stocking supplies and dishes.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude; the work includes standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds, with limited late nights and weekend hours and opportunities for PTO and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a full-service restaurant as a prep/line cook.
• Pass a background check.
• Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification or obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• High school coursework in kitchen basics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food as directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes.
• Stock supplies at serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts.
