Job summary

ST JOE RESORT OPERATIONS LLC is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and dishwashing operations in a fast-paced resort setting.

You will assist with ingredient prep, clean and sanitize prep areas, and help with proper storage and waste disposal while adhering to health and safety standards. Prior kitchen exposure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read labels and communicate in basic English.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Food handler certification preferred or may be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cook with meal ingredient prep: washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, chopping fruits/vegetables/meat.
• Clean and sanitize all food prep areas according to hygiene standards.
• Wash and store cooking appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors; wipe kitchen walls.
• Assist unloading of delivered food supplies; organize and store food.
• Transfer ingredients from storage to kitchen per Cook's instructions; label and store properly.
• Maintain a clean, labeled cooler; monitor contents and temperatures.
• Perform weekly deep cleaning of kitchen area and equipment.
• Remove and dispose of trash; keep work area tidy.
• Other duties as assigned.
