Job summary

Sweet Mary's Bakery in Akron, OH is seeking a friendly, motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The role requires being at least 18 and available 20 hours per week between Tuesday and Sunday, mornings and afternoons, with at least one weekend day.

You will perform food prep, help with recipes, assemble sandwiches, and support FOH when needed, while enjoying a positive work environment, flexible hours, weekly pay, and opportunities for advancement within the bakery.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18
• Availability for a minimum of 20 hours per week during Tue–Sun, mornings & afternoons, with at least one weekend day
• Able to start the work day at 6am or earlier
• Friendly, positive attitude
• Care for our products and customers
• Desire to learn about products and pitch-in as needed
• Some prior food prep experience; bakery/cafe experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Food prep for current menu: zesting/juicing citrus, shredding cheese, chopping & roasting produce
• Making basic recipes including doughs, fillings, frostings, gravy, chicken salad & egg salad
• Making sandwiches and assisting FOH as expediter when needed
• Assist rest of staff with daily shop cleaning, stocking & inventory

Sweet Mary's Bakery in Akron, OH is looking for one friendly, motivated individual to fill our open Kitchen Assistant position. Qualified applicants will be over 18, and must be available a minimum of 20 hours (and up to 40) between Tuesday – Sunday (Morning & Afternoons), and will have worked in a commercial kitchen before.
