The Kit Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly of skin biopsy collection kits, managing supply inventory, and fulfilling kit orders for both commercial and research testing performed by CND Life Sciences (CND).
This role involves hands-on production of collection kits, inventory management and quality control operations, ensuring all activities are properly documented and meet established quality standards in accordance with CND policies and regulatory guidelines. In a rapidly growing department, the Supervisor fosters a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the timely production, shipment and fulfillment of requests from customers, study sites, and the sales team. The Kit Production Supervisor works collaboratively with key stakeholders including Quality, Research and Development (R&D), and Clinical Services.
The Supervisor leads a team of Logistics Specialists and Material Handlers, setting daily and weekly objectives to maintain adequate back stock and collection supplies. They ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and support compliance efforts through close coordination with the Quality team.
Job Responsibilities:
Test Collection Supply Activities
- Directly supervise materials and logistics personnel responsible for the assembly, production, and shipment of specimen collection supplies to physician practices, study sites, and sales team customers.
- Manage supply storage in accordance with CND policies and applicable regulations, including but not limited to GMP, ISO, DOT/IATA, CAP, CLIA, CLEP, and FDA standards.
- Ensure accurate and complete batch documentation for skin biopsy collection kit assembly, maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
- Monitor supply levels and demand using CND's CRM and other tracking software, performing regular inventory updates.
- Collaborate proactively with Clinical Services to ensure customer needs are met and specimen collection supply inventories are well managed.
- Coordinate with the R&D team to meet clinical study specimen collection supply requirements.
- Maintain timely communication with the Sales team to ensure sales staff have controlled, adequate "trunk stock" of collection supplies for distribution to customers.
- Conduct routine internal audits to verify compliance, department performance, and timely shipment of supplies.
- Oversee production quality and ensure proper documentation accompanies all assembled products.
- Follow applicable procedural, environmental, quality, and safety standards, reporting any discrepancies immediately to management
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and methodologies as assigned by management.
- Evaluate production team performance and provide regular feedback.
- Train new and existing kit production team members to maintain high performance and compliance standards.
- Participate hands-on in assembly and shipping functions to support team success and achieve departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international shipping regulations and applicable procedure pack assembly guidelines.
General Inventory & Supply Activities
- Coordinate with the Procurement Specialist on ordering, supply need, and requirements related to specimen collection supply assembly operations.
- Ensure the consistent availability of specimen collection inventories and supporting materials.
- Collaborate with management to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, conditions, and settlements as needed.
- Perform all duties in alignment with established purchasing, inventory management and accounting policies.
- Provide daily guidance, oversight and direction to the kit production team to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years-experience in a supervisory role within production, inventory management, or a related field required.
- Experience in GxP, ISO standards and quality control processes, with a strong emphasis on good manufacturing and good documentation practices.
- Ability to foster a high-production and customer-focused culture.
- Self-starter with the ability to successfully execute initiatives independently and achieve defined goals.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams through consistent, effective and fair management practices.
- Lead by example, serving as a role model for team leads and operators by treating all individuals with respect, dignity and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of negotiation strategies, material resource planning, inventory management techniques, cost analysis and production processes.

Education, Certifications & Licensures:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Lean Certification or Six Sigma training preferred.
