Pay Range: $21-$22/hour

Seasonal position: May-October

This position is seasonal, and your employment will be temporary in nature. The duration of your employment is tied to the season and will end upon the conclusion of the season. There is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the seasonal period, and your employment will automatically terminate at the end of the season, unless otherwise extended or renewed in writing.

The purpose of a Line Cook is to prepare and cook food that meets the hotel’s standards and quality. A Line Cook operates under a chef in a restaurant or food establishment, responsible for assisting with breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and room service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Know all menu items on your shift (am/pm).
  2. Prepare all ingredients before service begins.
  3. Operate station efficiently and safely.
  4. Follow serve-safe methods in preparing, cooking, holding, and storing food.
  5. Perform repetitive work as required.
  6. Focus on pantry items, prepping, sandwiches, salads, and desserts.
  7. Ensure high-quality food production.
  8. Follow opening and closing procedures.
  9. Work effectively in a high-paced, hot environment.
  10. Keep workspace stocked.
  11. Follow written or verbal instructions accurately.
  12. Handle and store all food items properly.
  13. Prepare food according to recipes and standards.
  14. Maintain cleanliness and comply with sanitation standards.
  15. Manage guest orders promptly and courteously.
  16. Maintain menu knowledge and inspect all food sent from the kitchen.
  17. Prepare requisitions for supplies as needed.
  18. Use proper knife skills.
  19. Maintain attendance, punctuality, and compliance with work schedules.
  20. Adhere to personal grooming and dress code standards.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree or equivalent, or 6 months to 1 year related experience or training, or a combination thereof.

Certificates and Licenses:
  • Safe Serve/Food Handler’s Card
Work Environment:
  • Kitchen with temperature variations and chemical exposure.
  • Moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands:
  • Flexible hours, sometimes long.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
