KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of free, public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We partner with families and communities to create joyful and rigorous schools in pursuit of a more just world. Since 1995, we have expanded from our first middle school, KIPP Academy, in the Bronx, to a network comprising eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, one high school, and KIPP Forward, a program supporting students and alumni in their educational and career paths. Currently, KIPP NYC serves over 11,000 students and alumni, with a staff of more than 1,000, including 11% alumni, and continues to grow.
Position Overview
The Program Director's Assistant will support the Program Director in managing the daily operations of the afterschool program. Responsibilities include administrative duties, data entry, and compliance monitoring. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in knowledge management, document retention, communication, and systems design, especially in a fast-paced environment.
Alongside the Program Director, the Assistant Directors provide leadership and supervision for after-school staff, directly oversee children, and collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum and activities in areas such as sports, arts, academic enrichment, and leadership. The role involves both administrative tasks and on-site supervision of programming.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a part-time position paying $23 per hour. Salaries are determined based on experience and tenure within KIPP NYC.
