Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Oklahoma City seeks Child Welfare Specialists at multiple levels to support Kinship Assessment Relative Engagement (KARE) and ASK units. The role involves identifying kinship resources, interviewing families, and coordinating with the Kinship team to place children with kin.

New employees will undergo the Child Welfare Core Academy Training. On-call roles offer additional biweekly bonuses.

Qualifications

• Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor's degree (in any field) required for Level II.
• Master's degree in Social Work entitles salary incentive and advances in Level III.

Responsibilities

• All New Employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program.
• Conduct kinship resource family assessments (KARE) for placement with kin, foster or adoption.
• Interview parents, child and family, and search case notes and online records to identify family connections.
