Job summary

FosterAdopt Connect in Independence, MO seeks a Kinship Navigator Specialist. You will provide one-on-one support to relatives and kinship caregivers, identifying needs, developing Navigation Plans, and connecting families with community resources, benefits, advocacy, and support services.

This role helps keep children safely with family, strengthens kinship networks, and supports stability and nurturing homes through flexible scheduling and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in social work or related human services field preferred.
• Proven ability to write clearly, concisely and effectively for a variety of audiences.
• Ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust.
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends as needed.
• Travel required with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to relatives and kinship caregivers who are caring for children outside of traditional foster care.
• Identify family needs, develop individualized Navigation Plans, and connect with community resources, benefits, advocacy, and support services.
• Promote stability and help children remain safely with family by linking to supports and services.
