Job summary

Circle of Care is hiring a Kinship Navigator Specialist in Tulsa, OK and surrounding counties. You will help kinship caregivers understand and access services, coordinating with schools, health, and social services to meet child welfare needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in social work or related field and 1+ years in social services. A bilingual English/Spanish candidate is preferred and a valid Oklahoma license is needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in social services or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass background check, pre-employment drug screening, and physical.
  • Minimum age 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Work with kinship caregivers, groups, organizations, and institutions to identify and connect to community resources.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of kinship issues affecting families and available resources.
  • Support kinship caregivers in identifying assets and needs.
  • Act as a liaison between community initiatives and kinship caregivers.
  • Develop programs and educational materials and deliver trainings on kinship issues.
  • Find resources to meet kinship needs.

Starting Pay: $40,000.00 and up + Full Benefits | Full-Time | Faith-Based Nonprofit

Your Impact: What You’ll Do
  • Work with kinship caregivers, groups, organizations, and institutions to identify, connect to, and effectively utilize community resources, while increasing awareness of kinship needs among community providers, court and child welfare staff, and other key stakeholders to develop resources for the betterment of kinship care
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of local, regional, county, and/or statewide issues affecting kinship families and the resources available to help them.
  • Support kinship caregivers, groups, organizations, and institutions with identifying assets and needs.
  • Act as a liaison between community building initiatives, bringing together people and programs to work alongside kinship caregivers.
  • Develop programs and educational materials for kinship care and deliver trainings on kinship issues to a variety of audiences
  • Find all applicable resources to meet kinship needs
Who You Are
  • Individual with a knowledge of kinship family dynamics and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; organized, detailed, and skilled at coordinating events and processes.
  • Ability to function effectively in a variety of community settings and diverse, multi-cultural populations, with sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Strong presentation and large group facilitation skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, exhibit mature judgment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of kinship care, children, and families.
  • Committed to Christ-centered service and passionate about the mission of foster care
What You Bring
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field of study
  • 1+ years of experience in social services, education, or a related field required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience as a kinship caregiver who has raised children in kinship care and navigated the child welfare, legal, educational, and health systems preferred
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to pass background check, pre-employment drug screening, and physical
  • Minimum age 21 years old
