Job summary

Technology Service Corp. (TSC) seeks pilots to serve as PIC and SIC for maritime surveillance missions across Pacific locations in King Air 200/300 aircraft. Training and operations will be provided; missions include overwater surveillance in varying conditions.

Assignments are three-month rotations with pre-deployment training and post-deployment tasks. Benefits include meal and lodging allowances and opportunities to work with a dedicated crew in a challenging, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • FAA AMEL and Instrument Rating with Commercial Privileges required or equivalent CASA ratings.
  • Minimum 23 years of age and high level of health and fitness.

  • Ability to travel with notice for up to three months.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Act as PIC of a King Air 200/300 on functional check flights, transit, and surveillance missions.
  • Plan missions including route, weather, fuel, and filing flight plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and weight and balance calculations.
  • Lead crew briefings on normal and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain pre- and post-flight records and write observations reports.

Job description

Pilot – Pilot-in-Command (PIC) & Second-in-Command (SIC)

TSC has immediate openings for pilots to serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) for maritime surveillance missions across multiple island locations in the Central and Western Pacific. Aviation training for the mission and aircraft operations will be provided by TSC. Flyers will conduct daily extended overwater surveillance at various altitudes, including low‑level over‑water maneuvering, in VMC or IMC, in King Air 200/300 aircraft configured for maritime surveillance. Flight operations follow 14 CFR Part 91 in a dual‑pilot configuration (single‑pilot operations authorized). The crew includes a Sensor Operator and a dedicated crew chief. Assignments are three‑month rotations that include pre‑deployment training/travel and post‑deployment administrative tasks/travel. Meals and lodging allowances are provided.

  • Plan missions: flight route, weather and fuel planning, preparation/filing flight plans, aircraft preflight inspections.
  • Perform Aircrew Risk Management assessments and aircraft weight and balance calculations.
  • Conduct briefings with crew members and non‑crew members on normal and emergency procedures.
  • Inspect and test all aircraft lifesaving and emergency equipment for proper installation and operation.
  • Complete pre‑ and post‑flight record‑keeping administrative tasks.
  • Prepare informal and formal written reports of observations made during missions.
  • Provide detailed and effective communication with crew and ground personnel.
  • Actively participate with the deployed team in aviation and non‑aviation capacities.
  • Provide aircraft and program capability briefings to local officials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities – Second-in-Command (SIC)
  • Act as SIC in a King Air 200/300 aircraft on functional check flight, transit, and surveillance missions.
  • Assist the PIC in all responsibilities outlined above.
  • Assist the crew chief with pre/post flight duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of international travel documents and arrangements.
  • Conduct briefings with crew members and non‑crew members on normal and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and cross‑check aircraft systems and instruments to fortify safe aircraft operation.
  • Assist with normal and emergency procedures checklists.
  • Perform ATC and oceanic radio communications during international transit and mission flights.
  • Provide detailed and effective communication with crew and ground personnel.
  • Actively participate with the deployed team in aviation and non‑aviation capacities.
  • Inspect and test all aircraft emergency equipment for proper installation and normal operation.
  • Assist the PIC with other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • FAA ratings: Airplane Multi‑Engine Land (AMEL) and Instrument Airplane with Commercial Privileges (equivalent CASA ratings accepted).
  • FAA Second‑class medical certificate, valid throughout deployment periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain good working relationships with tasking authorities, local officials, and crew.
  • Good health and physical conditioning appropriate for the mission.
  • Ability to travel with reasonable notice for periods up to three months.
  • Exemplary references as a professional aviator.
  • Current U.S. or Australian passport.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Minimum 23 years of age.
  • Minimum flight time: PIC – 1,500 total flight hours, 1,000 PIC time, 500 AMEL; 250 hours in BE200/350; 50 hours AMEL in last 6 months. SIC – 750 total, 100 PIC, 200 AMEL, 50 AMEL in last 6 months.
Desired Experience
  • Law enforcement, military, or equivalent flying experience consistent with mission requirements.
  • Experience with Garmin glass cockpit avionics (G600/GTN 750, G1000).
  • Experience in deployed and/or surveillance operations.
  • Experience in King Air operations.
  • Experience in international flight operations.
Preferred Flight Qualifications
  • 3,000 hours total flight time.
  • CFI/CFII/MEI ratings.
  • 1,500 hours PIC time, 1,000 hours AMEL, 100 AMEL in last 6 months, 500 hours in King Air aircraft, 200 hours instrument time BE‑200/300.
  • Type ratings.
