Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool for the following Kinesiology Instructor position.

Instructors will teach and support students in Kinesiology, with courses delivered in person, online, or at off-campus sites. Travel between District locations is expected, and duties may include evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, Kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education is required.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in any of the above fields may meet qualifications.
• AND a Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
• Equivalency approval may be provided per Academic Senate guidance.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
• Teaching may occur during the day, online, evenings, Saturdays, or at off-campus sites.
• Travel between District locations is expected.

Education

Master's degree in Kinesiology or related field

Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with PE emphasis, or related field

Master's degree in any life science or related discipline OR equivalent

Academic Senate equivalency as allowed by faculty division

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
• Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, online courses, evening, Saturday, and/or off-campus sites.
• Travel between District locations is also expected

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)

• Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges: Master's degree in Kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, Kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education
• OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above
• AND Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
• Academic Senate's approved equivalency: Equivalency not needed, per faculty division
• AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (tit. 5 § 53024.1).

VISA

• Does not sponsor employment visas,
• Does not participate in E-Verify, and
• Does not complete documentation related to STEM OPT or other F-1 visa programs.
