Qualifications

• Valid PSC-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate field is required.
• Special Education, ESOL, Gifted, and CTAE endorsements required where applicable.
• GACE Education Ethics Assessment must be passed.
• Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience.
• Industry licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Teaches grade-relevant, subject matter-specific, and mandated curriculum.
• Develops and implements lesson plans for in-person and virtual learning with evidence of preparation.
• Communicates with district personnel, students, and/or parents by phone, email, or video conferencing.
• Creates in-person and virtual classroom environments conducive to learning.
• Uses internet and web-based technology to provide instruction.
• Assesses and documents progress, reports attendance and performance.
• Supervises student behavior per conduct policies.
• Participates in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, and administrators.
• Performs duties such as ordering materials and attending professional trainings.
• Directs paraprofessionals or instructional aides as needed.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Special Education responsibilities include IEPs, SDI, and case management for students with disabilities.
