Basic Function:

Provide educational and nurturing services for students in designated grade(s), forming positive relationships. Ensure instruction aligns with federal, state, and district standards, requirements, laws, regulations, and the HCCSC Master Contract.

Qualifications:

Possess a valid Indiana teaching license for the relevant grade level and/or subject. Knowledge of HCCSC principles, theories, practices, procedures, and techniques related to lesson planning and classroom instruction is required.

Essential Functions:
  • Implement a rigorous educational program based on student instructional goals, utilizing district curriculum and instructional frameworks in compliance with applicable standards and laws.
  • Design and deliver engaging, culturally proficient learning experiences that motivate students and utilize class time effectively.
  • Demonstrate content knowledge, effective pedagogy, and familiarity with Response to Intervention processes and resources supporting student learning.
  • Analyze student assessment data, school improvement data, and curriculum mapping data to create personalized instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with accountability requirements.
  • Report student achievement data following HCCSC grading guidelines.
  • Create a respectful, brain-compatible classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior using district-approved procedures and routines.
  • Organize physical space to enhance learning, minimizing visual clutter.
  • Deliver explicit instruction, model expectations, and monitor student practice.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to support learning, behavior, and conflict resolution, including programs for students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and high-ability students.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, participate in collaborative planning, and engage in professional growth.
  • Provide guidance to instructional support staff as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration to meet emergency or special needs.
