Job summary

Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for Fall 2026. This full-time role requires creating engaging lessons aligned to Michigan standards, using technology to differentiate instruction, and fostering a love of learning.

The ideal candidate holds a Michigan teaching certificate, a bachelor’s degree, and at least three years of teaching experience. We offer an innovative, supportive learning environment for students and teachers alike.

Qualifications

  • Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the subject area being taught.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years teaching.
  • Evidence of meeting highly qualified requirements, as defined by No Child Left Behind.
  • Ability to teach and develop curriculum for assigned grade level(s).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and align with Michigan standards.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies.
  • Help students who are behind or struggling to learn content.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop lesson plans and improve the learning process.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding progress and needs.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom per school rules and procedures.
  • Utilize formative, summative, and interim assessments to inform daily instruction.
  • Create classroom assessments that measure student proficiency as per Michigan standards.

Teachers First is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw!

The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw (GATA) is opening in Fall 2026 and is seeking innovative, passionate educators who want to help build something different from the ground up.

GATA is designed to be a highly engaging school where academics, technology, creativity, competition, and real-world learning come together through gamified systems, hands-on experiences, and strong relationships to prepare students for the future.

NATURE OF THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for fostering students’ interest in education as well as academic development. The incumbent must possess a mastery command of the Michigan Academic Standards for their respective discipline and be a competent professional with in-depth knowledge of instructional best practices and educational methods and procedures specific to the secondary classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and are in line with State of Michigan objectives and school-wide curriculum goals.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Help individual students who are behind or struggling to learn content.
  • Collaborate with other Teachers to develop lesson plans and improve the overall learning process.
  • Communication with students and parents regarding student progress and/or needs.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Understanding of how to use formative, summative, and interim assessment data to inform daily instruction.
  • Ability to create classroom assessments that effectively measure student proficiency levels as demonstrated by the Michigan Academic Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
