Job summary

Fairview Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to maximize the learning of students with special needs using district-approved curricula. You will assess, document progress, and develop IEPs while collaborating with staff, families, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities include implementing individualized plans, maintaining records, and promoting parental involvement to support student growth and safety in a standard school setting.

Qualifications

• NJ State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maximize learning experience for students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and daily living activities.
• Document teaching and student progress/outcomes with district-approved curriculum.
• Develop Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and implement them with students and staff.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and administrators to support students’ needs.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents and prospective colleges/employers as required.
