Job description

Salary Range:$80,000 - $178,000. The position on the scale will be based on years of teaching experience and education.

The Dalton School, a progressive K-12 gender-inclusive school in Manhattan's Upper East Side, is consistently recognized as one of the preeminent independent day schools in the nation. We are seeking a full-time Elementary (Kindergarten) Spanish teacher starting September 2026.Spanish at Dalton is taught through the three modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational), with attention to the cultural products, practices, and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world. We are committed to ongoing curricular and pedagogical anti-racist work, and we seek a candidate who shares that commitment and who can contribute to our efforts. Our ideal candidate has K-5 language teaching experience and native-like proficiency in Spanish. Language teaching/methodology training and understanding of ACTFL standards and proficiency guidelines is a plus.
