Job description

Kindergarten Self-Contained Special Education Teacher

Harrison School District is accepting applications for a special education teacher position for the 2023-2024 school year. The position is full-time (1.0 FTE). Applicants must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification. Previous experience is preferred but not required.

The district is seeking an individual who will:

  1. Create and deliver specialized instruction in accordance with CEC High Leverage Practices
  2. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to achieve at high levels
  3. Provide quality special education services in inclusive environments
  4. Formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and staff
  5. Use progress monitoring data, building and state-level data, and behavior data to drive student programming
  6. Develop and maintain compliant due process paperwork
  7. Schedule and lead IEP meetings in accordance with Arkansas DESE rules and regulations
  8. Effectively use learning management systems and digital resources for digital learning
  9. Manage paraprofessional(s) and PCA activities under your supervision
  10. Attain or possess Google Level One Certification
