Job summary

Decatur Public Schools at Muffley Elementary School seeks a Kindergarten Instructional Teaching Assistant to support grades K–2. You will assist the classroom teacher, help with daily academics, manage materials, and support student safety and behavior.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old to serve students in preK–12.
• Beginning Jan 1, 2023, may qualify for ELS-Paraprofessional license with specified options.
• Multiple paths available to meet licensure requirements for K–8/PreK–12.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in their daily academics as instructed by teachers.
• Assists in grading work and assigns individual academic tasks.
• Maintains individual student records and distributes/collects materials.
• Alerts teacher to special needs and provides escorts/assistance as necessary.
• Implements changes to meet individual student needs and ensures safety.
