Job summary

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a passing score on the PRAXIS, or completion of 48 semester hours. Duties include supervising students, assisting teachers, and supporting classroom activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with passing PRAXIS or 48 semester hours.
• PARAPRO test or 48 semester hours from an accredited university or college.
• Excellent computation skills and ability to perform basic math.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Comply with School Board Policy.
• Follow federal, state, and district professional development requirements.
• Supervise and assist at arrival and departure.
• Supervise and assist with meals and snacks.
• Supervise students during transitions (playground, library, PE, field trips).
• Assist teachers with classroom management and student tasks.
• Read to students and encourage good manners.
• Assist in the use of technology and adapt to classroom procedures.
• Maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment.
• Support teachers and participate in district initiatives.
